The USAID-funded Combating Violence Against Women and Children seeks to fill
the following positions. Please note that each position has a separate

*Combating Violence Against Women Positions:*

The Combating Violence Against Women and Children project supports the
National Council for Women’s ongoing efforts to develop and implement
policies that provide better protection to women victims of violence and
help to reduce violence against women (VAW). The project also supports the
NCW’s efforts to improve and expand governmental and non-governmental
services for women victims of violence and related awareness efforts
targeting the family and community.
*1) Combating Violence Against Women Team Leader (Egyptian)*
This senior-level professional leads all of the project’s VAW activities,
providing policy advice, providing capacity building to governmental and
non-governmental professionals, and strategizing activities and results,
working in close coordination with the leadership of the National Council
for Women and project management. This professional supervises a team of
three full-time professionals and intermittent short-term consultants.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Strong background in gender issues, social work, social psychology, law
or related field with substantial experience working on issues related to
violence against women.
- Experience working with local or international NGOs, international
donors, and/or Egyptian government institutions in the field of violence
against women; USAID experience preferred.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic; strong written and spoken English,
with near fluency preferred.
- Bachelors or higher degree in relevant field and 10 years of work
experience.

support in the area of service provision with a special focus on the
project’s NGO sub-grantees. In addition, this professional will participate
in building capacity and monitoring sub-grantees.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Strong background in gender issues, social work, social psychology, law
or related field with substantial experience working with women victims of
violence; USAID experience a plus.
- Experience developing grantee proposals and implementing grantee
activities, including defining objectives, results, and indicators.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic; strong written and spoken English,
with near fluency preferred.
- Bachelors or higher degree in relevant field and 5 to 10 years of work
experience.

Project Management and Operations Positions**3) Project Communications and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (Locallyhired expatriate or Egyptian).*This mid-level professional will lead the project’s communications and
English-language reporting to Egyptian government counterparts and USAID.
The professional will also take a leading role in maintaining and reporting
on a wide-range of performance monitoring mechanisms over the life of the
project.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Native or near native written and spoken English language; strong Arabic
skills a plus
- Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems
- Bachelors or higher degree in a relevant field and 3 to 7 years of work
experience

which is conducted on behalf of its Egyptian government partners. The
specialist will be responsible for helping to prepare bidding documents,
review bids, ensure that the process is conducted in accordance with US
government and Chemonics International rules and regulations, and oversee
the implementation of sub-contracts with vendors. The specialist may also be
asked to perform a range of other tasks to support the operation of the
project.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of USAID and US government procurement rules and
regulations
- Experience supervising local subcontractors
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic; strong written and spoken English,
with near fluency preferred.
- Bachelors or higher degree in a relevant field and 3 to 5 years of work
experience
